food indulgence

another food post...
which is what i have been pretty much doing lately..
meeting frens to check out new interesting places.. fabulous cakes n cookies (which seriously is not one of my craze..), endless brunch sessions, high tea, dinners...

不肥是假的！！！

brunch with my fav gers on a saturday morn... 

went to wild honey for this.. had it once and i tink its quite fab.. but the serving was HUGE... too full for words.. 

but we went to Carpenter and Cook after that still -_- dun ask me how.. but we managed to continue eating thereafter.. 

it was quite a difficult session for mi to wake up.. therefore no pics of me because i did not have the energy for make up.. 

i slept at 530AM BECOS OF MJ.. and had to wake up at 700 (but snooze till 8 den i woke up with a start.. that explains y no make up..) to meet my gers at 9am.. 

an impromptu ketupat cum hokkein mee session at my hse downstairs..
who can imagine 6 ketupats for supper?!?! none of us can actually.. but the very cute bf of xuan ordered 4 more ketupat on top of the 2 we had juz ate..
i am NEVER a ketupat fan.. n i ate the most ketupat record of my own for that night.. although i cant grumble much because the remaining is stomached by the very cute bf of xuan.. HAHAHAHAHA

yes, on top of 6 ketupat, he ordered ONE full chicken, chicken cutlet (by me) and of cos satay and TWO BIG plates of hokkein mee..

the very cute story is the poor bf tot that sian n her hubby were not leaving THAT soon.. he got a shock when he came back from ordering and sian was preparing to leave..
nonetheless, everything became his supper of the supper for that night..

I have to mention this! because jus one try from sian's courtesy and i fell in love with pine garden's brownies..
i am never a sweet tooth person.. but when it comes to these brownies, i cannot resist..
its so soft and chocolaty inside that you MUST definitely try if you have not..

Another cake that makes mi succumb is the chocolate pound cake from Freshly Baked at Killiney Road.. no pic because all were devoured before any pic cld be taken.. or rather i forgot about taking pic la..
thats another paradise food..

now that i have all the time in the world, i went exploring some places with xuan.. she brought me to this coffee place at some old school old school place.. quite vintage and i like it... though im not much a coffee person..
artsy feel.. i like being in artsy feel places.. n wish i had my camera with me.. hahaa

and finally the brunch from the artsy coffeeplace...

i feel like i can really lead a countryside life.. everyday just spend my day away enjoying life as it is... but too bad SG is a place where you will wake up to reality very soon..

continuation to my ramencraze

i think that is my dead spot... i cannot imagine a month without at least ramen once..

at least for now.. its my current food craze..

its funny tat at different stages i find myself liking diff type of food.. and once i like it, i can hav it continuously for a week, a month, 6 months so on and so forth without getting sick of it... thats how crazy i can be..

i have tried a few ramen places - from ramen in sakae sushi, sushi tei, ajisen ramen (i would say it typically sucks, not sth that could satisfy if you have serious ramen craving.. i dun even noe their ramen can be considered as authentic ramen or juz chinese noodles cooked in japanese broth.. cldnt even tink of an apt description for those deceptive ramen in these sushi places..), marutama, IPPUDO, menya musashi etc etc... what i missing is the Champion Ramen that im still completating if i sld give it a try when there are extreme contrasting comments for the ramen there...

conclusion is IPPUDO won my heart right right down... my all time FAV is the spicy miso tonkotsu... i tink it has the most delicious soup broth i have ever tasted for a ramen.. so much that it slurps.. and so much that it had me going back there once, twice a month at least... my frens are the poor souls who have to accompany mi to ippudo 80% of the time they jio mi for dinner.. HAHAHA... especially my POOR SIS.. but she is the most acoomodating becos she likes there as well la...

y am i so crazy about ramen? i dunno either.. i tink it pretty sticks after i was back from japan when i discovered ramen can be so delicious.. it sticks even more after i was introduced to ippudo.. then my craze lives..........

ramendamen craze

Went to this super awesome ramen place at mandarin gallery - ippudo!

Omg! The queue is horrible seriously.. I seldom queue so long for food (if my memory din fail mi) but to b honest, it's kind of worth e wait because e broth is sooooooo good... Though I cannot say e same for e flavoured tamago comparing it to marutama n possibly japan..

Ippudo has like e best broth so far next to the authentic one in Japan.. It's so good until my craving for ramen continues... So much so that I went for ramen again at marutama HAHAHA

I seriously dun understand how ajisen can survive until today with such competitors... I never step my food into ajisen after my second try.. N my second time there was because I have no choice but to accommodate..

Okie so much for my blog post... I'm juz trying to show my presence n to rave abt how nice ippudo has been... Plus its kinda difficult trying to blog using an ipad.. Fingers dun feel like fingers anymore.. Sorry about this crappy post..

♥ Harajuku ♥ Japan

double hearts.. becos i reali <3 <3 <3 harajuku a lot..

its gg 2 b my absolute place to visit whenever i go japan...

let u look at the locker phenomenon very prevalent in japan..

one small locker is about 300yen... big one about 400-500yen.. i tink there's one super large one tat can put in one luggage which is ard 800yen.. but din c it in the railway station..

its not cheap.. but for a tourist or mayb their own ppl, its an essential when u need to travel to a lot of places in one day with a lot of shopping..

very clever of japanese to even tink of this convenient money making idea

u can find lockers in nearly everywhere in japan..

wat happened to us was we were so laden wif the food goodies from asakusa.. n we had to deposit the heavy stuff temporaily b4 we can continue wif harajuku shopping..

here we are!! excited!!

hungry max... tat was abt 2-3pm already and we hadnt hav any lunch.. so we dropped into the first restaurant opp the train station..

very luckily, the food wasnt tat expensive..

it is definitely more worthwhile to come wif a grp of frens.. n we shared e cost of food together.. in tat way, we can actually try lots more variety..

we were also saving our stomach for the marvellous crepe ltr..

the first authentic meal in an authentic japanese restaurant..

the super yummilicious fried rice i have ever ate for japanese cuisine..

other than e yummy garlic fried rice in shima..

so yummy tat i kept craving for it when im back T_T

e ramen there no matter fr wherever, its always super yummilicious.. like i mentioned b4, not many ramen house in singapore (except e one in central.. but e one in central also onli got e egg tats super nice..) can beat this ramen in authentic japan..

ajisen is reali fake fake ramen...

also our favourite... we like it so much till we ordered one more set for it..

at the streets of Harajuku now...

the MARVELLOUS crepe that cheesie has intro-ed...

it is reali so marvellous until i tot i hav gone 2 heaven wif it..

no lying...

we choose the strawberry cheesecake crepe.. also a recommendation from cheesie..

its a must-try if u step foot in harajuku..

i heard other than harajuku, e crepes sold elsewhere r basically "fake"...

the things there r nice though mayb not b nicer than Shibuya.. but its cheaper by a lot.. at least more affordable.. but no, we din manage to c any cosplay dressup :(

then guess wat... back fr harajuku, we were still craving for more japanese food.. but at e same time we also craved for all the fast food in japan..

shopping non-stop has caused us to have no chance to fully enjoy e food in japan...

so here we r, trying our best to cram in as much variety of food as possible at nite..

ramen again... two days with three times ramen in a row..

n found e eggs we wan to eat in japan.. lazy to google wat is e exact name for e egg.. so lets juz call it egg wif half boiled center..
becos i rem central has very nice egg wif half boiled center n i cldnt forget abt how nais the egg is..
i tot japan surely has even nicer egg with half boiled center...
so although the ramen already comes wif half an egg wif half boiled center (gets abit irritating to keep seeing the egg with half boiled center.. there i did it again.. hahaha..), we ordered another 3 more..
the waitress gave us a shocked look n asked if we r sure we wan so many eggs...
yes, we sticked to 3 extra eggs more.. its not like we can find such type of egg at every alternate restaurant along e street..
we shared e egg, gyoza (harajuku one is def much better..) n one bowl of ramen..

becos we were gg to have.......................................................................................................

KFC NEXT!!!

lastly, went into family mart n bought e asahi tat i <3 so much back to hotel...

they have this clear asahi which is uber nice becos its much lighter in taste..

i dunno can bring singapore or not.. so i nv buy at all T_T

still missing japan alot and alot and alot..

Hen Nite for dear Yun - the Scarlet Hotel

we decided to book a hotel for yun for her hen nite..

the reason for choosing a hotel in e end was becos many times we came close to booking one but changed our mind thereafter.. so tis time, what's a better option other than having a hotel to hav a gers nite together??

went through numerous selection from locations like in little india (becos can get a suite room real cheap..) where some felt it was a tad too sleazy.. to the New Majestic Hotel (nice but i felt e price was too steep for a small room.. we needed a BIG room..) to M hotel (which is ex..) to even a very nicely deco suite in i-forgot-wats-e-name hotel (which i love it e instant i saw e pic.. but way way too ex..) perhaps rong can enlighten wats tat hotel name again..

anyway, we finally settled on scarlet hotel.. becos of my distinctive memory of the rooftop bar..

im glad we made e choice in choosing the premium room..

<3 it so much e moment we stepped inside..

absolutely in love wif the design of the room..

surprisingly enough though, this is a 4 star hotel.. given its quite isolated location..

we booked a premium room becos we wanted more room space.. n reali reali glad.. becos it felt reali PREMIUM..

pls ignore e plastic bag.. sorry.. no time to pack it away..

more plastic bags.. three gers lugging so many things to the hotel for the preparation for the hen nite..

we actually spent quite a bit of time discussing online etc becos everyone's reali busy wif their own things..

most of e deco stuff, all thx to qz, she managed to put it together given tat short period of time..

me n rong wif not much artsy cells in us gave her e full control.. i can onli do simple paper cutting.. even pasting also need to engage ping's help den can paste properly T_T

very big space isnt it?! tat little quaint cupboard over there is actually e TV consol.. comes with DVD player samore..

a perfect room for Twister.. HAHAHA

even the toilet also so quaint n nice... but no chance to soak myself in the bathtub at all!

nothing.. just want to show how nice tis hotel room is :D

then absolutely in love wif this couch... and the big mirror...

a perfect corner for perfect camwhoring..

even the slippers also so nice (but i forgot to take a pair back.. i wan to go back this hotel again T_T)... my feet look comfortable in it.. haahaha

in front, me using the opportunity to camwhore when i was done wif all e pasting.. 

a sidetrack...

i was pretty amazed tat i was able to put together my makeup act (although i kept delaying the meeting time..) at hm n got down to the hotel wif my makeup on.. my initial plan was heck everything, i juz needed 2 rest my terribly weak body at hm before gg hotel.. pack 5min, rest 10min.. n very nearly panicked like mad when e time was running short.. so intended to hav no make up n go hotel 2 prepare..

because overdone myself wif e alcohol e nite before.. went to slp with a spinning head.. n woke up wif a terribly n extremely ill body.. i onli slept for less than 5hrs den i forced myself up..

which explains y pack 5min n rest 10min..packed abit den v xin ku had to rest for 10mins T_T

throughout the 2hrs, i was hoping in might that i cld recover my strength very very soon..

miraculously enough, i managed to hold myself n even made myself up before going out.. alt the gers actually waited for some time for me to get prepared..

lightsticks - hard work by mi n ping breaking the sticks n connecting all of them together.. not an easy feat becos its kinda hard 2 get e lightstick stay tight in their connectors..

very nicely decorated all from QZ's hard work.. she's e most talented in arts among us all..

n we were still in e midst of preparing like crazy becos we totally overran on our preparation time..

yun actually arrived before we even got ourselves ready (actually mostly me haven got myself ready.. still got hair to make... so paiseh...)

we had to get her sis to help us do a decoy..

n tis naughty yun kept ringing the doorbell non-stop..

i tink she was v excited 2 c wat we had prepared for her..

so SURPRISE!!! for her

she came very dressed up as wat we hav told her 2 do.. but she din continue wif e pact we made to wear e boots!

all ready to take the challenges we hav set for her in her beautifully done sash..

not reali finally done.. is not very done yet.. but i hav no time 2 cont.. so i left it as such..

qz brought us to Brotzeit - a german bar..

n drank nice german beer..

dark beer.. which is also veri NAIs...

wasnt in much of e mood to drink becos of the nite before's overdose..

the malt sweetness of the second darkest beer..

still prefers the dark one n e light one though..

but german beer is reali nice becos they r v light.. i like light light beer..

 the sausage platter which i like very much.. i hope e bride did too..

the sour cream potato which i din like very much..

pizza which okie la.. juz pizza.. not exactly a very huge fan of pizza..

but me is a huge fan of SAUSAGES.. real edible one i mean...

the pork knuckles according to much raves from qz n rong, is actually not bad.. for someone who doesnt reali take pork knuckles.. tis one is pretty gd..

just another range of sausages.. plus chicken breast meat..

but in e end we relented la.. din get her 2 perform e full task... becos her ans wasnt very satisfactory due to unanimous objections..
